  本帖最后由 大大棒棒糖 于 2012-3-15 14:31 编辑 Dear Prof.Kwangjo Kim,Please not mind me if I take this opportunity to email you after I read some information about your research.I am an senior student from XXXX(http://en.XXX.edu.cn/),China.Also, I work as a visiting student & research assistant at XXXX.My major is Software Engineering and my research interests are including network security and network computing.My current project in XXX is related to IPsec VPN and some research about the man in the middle attack in IPv6. My job in this project is to implement the IKEv2 protocol for the whole system by using C programming language.I am very interested in anomaly detection which is the key technique in network intrusion detection systems(NIDS) as anomaly based system is one of the most typical NIDS nowadays.Moreover, I believe it is necessary for us to do some research in abomaly detection for many reasons because anomalies may create congestion in the network and stress resource utilization in a router, and this is quite crucial not only in network communication but also in satellite communication.So I decided to do some research in this field in the future.However, I found that one of key problems in anomaly detection is to build statistical model to detect the anomolous data(more than half of the existing anomaly detection techniques are statistic-based). No matter what approach I will use to address the anomaly detection, the accuracy and efficiency of the method is heavily depends on the nature of the data which is available for analysis. Therefore, I have to find a way to obtain the right and effective type of network performance data, and I determine to do some research in this field.So, I make up my mind to send this e-mail to you and inquire that if you could give me the chance to do my future research with you and your members after I graduate from my current school in July. 2012. And I am here to send your this e-mail to inquire that If you would like to be my supervisor when I am applying for the PhD program in your university.I briefly summarize my strengths in the following:(For detail, please ask me for more files):1.Research experience in XXX which makes me have a higher reaserch capability than other undergraduate students.2.Strong academic foundation in CS(average score of the major courses is above xxx)3.Strong programming skills(have written more than 100,000 lines of source codes by using C, C++, C# and Java)4.Good language skills.(TOEFL IBT XXX)Thanks for your time, your kind reply will be great appriciated!Yours sincerely,

  叫什么，现在在干什么，大学学了什么。然后开门见山说自己想跟着教授干什么（研究生还是考院生，之后想研究什么）。然后中间大部分写自己为什么对这个研究感兴趣，自己的理解，和想法。最后说在网上找到了老师您，是做什么研究的，很合拍，希望能得到您的指导，做你的研究生或者院生。再客气几句。结束。你想附上自己履历书也可以，第一次不付也可以，别人也没那么多闲工夫看，如果他对你感兴趣回复了你，再发履历也可以。信切忌不要太长，简单明了最好，教授都忙，长了看着就烦了。
